Welcome to my blog

Here you can add some text to explain what your blog is about and a bit about you.

Good Morning everybody! Its been a month since I started this blog and I don't think anybody is reading it. I know that nobody is commenting. So if anybody is out there please give me a shout. Let me know you are there. Tell me what you would like me to write about. What questions you might have. Anything to get some dialogue going. I might think I am going crazy talking to myself all the time.

Here is a beautiful picture of a granite fireplace manufactured by Renaissance. Anthony, one of the owners, was at the house and said that the large blackish area in the upper left side was like looking into a cave. It is truly amazing. So people, remember when you are picking out your stones, the beauty of nature is the fact that it is not uniform. So many people are using man-made materials today, which has its applications, but there is nothing more beautiful than natural stone. Every piece is a work of art!

Until next time...

Wake up sleepy heads! I heard on the radio this morning that there are more car accidents today, after moving the clocks ahead, than any other day. This is due to losing 1 hour sleep! So WAKE UP! Spring is one week from Friday. We are in the home stretch. With spring in the air its time to think about planning for a new outdoor kitchen. I can already smell those burgers and hot dogs on the grill. The sound of the kids playing in the yard, dogs barkings, beer cans opening and people laughing. Wow, it seems like so long ago. Its been a tough winter but we are close. Put a beautiful granite top on your outdoor kitchen. It will wear beautifully. After all, granite is formed outdoors!

Until next time,

Your stone gal,

Joyce

Its the beginning of March and guess what, we begin with 5" of snow with a promise of more snow during the week. I don't know about you, but I have had just about enough of this winter. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, the sun is shinning and the temperature is above freezing. Yeah!

I received a new quartz line last week, Spectrum Quartz by Hirsch Glass. It is well priced and it is a little different than some of the others out there. So if quartz is what you are looking for it is worth looking at.

Here is a picture of a white quartz island with a mitered leg. Nice clean lines! The rest of the kitchen was done in a grey and white granite.

Happy Presidents Day! Today should be busy since schools and many offices are closed. However, mother nature hit us with an icy curve ball this morning. I woke up to a balmy 4 degrees and that is without the windchill. I don't know about you but unless things are falling apart in your home, it doesn't exactly entice your creative juices for the start of those spring projects. I did get a call from a gentlemen who made an appointment for today to design a fireplace for him. What a perfect day to think about sitting in front of a warm, cozy and relaxing fireplace. If you and the kids are getting cabin fever come down and we will make you a nice hot espresso or cappuccino.

Hello to my followers.......if I have any, considering this is the very first post for Renaissance Marble. My name is Joyce and I am going on my 10th year at Renaissance. I have been in the stone business for approximately 25 years. (Don't do the math, I am only 36 :-) )

We are Stone Fabricators and I am not quite sure what I am suppose to be blogging about. Since we don't live in Colorado, I know what I am NOT suppose to be writting about. To be quite honest, I have never blogged so this is a completely new experience. Any suggestions would be really, really helpful.

I assume I can l come up with cute little antidotes, if I can think of any, from time to time. I can tell you what is trending. Maybe you would like to hear about the horrible stories that we hear from customers in regard to their jobs, so yours don't seem to be as bad. How about a picture of a beautiful stone that just came in, I would love to share with you.

I could post pictures of projects we are working on or those we have completed to spark some ideas of your own.You can ask me questions and I will answer them. We can discuss the great debate between granite versus quartz. Whether or not to use marble in your kitchen. One of my favorites, my mothers neighbors, brothers, aunts, cousins, sister told me......We are the experts!!! You have a question, this is where you should come for answers. Just don't ask me what came first the chicken or the egg.....

So lets talk about kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, what you ate for dinner last night, what a great party you had and how it stained your beautiful new island and what how we are going to get that stain out, or what ever topic you would like.

Since this is my first time, also known as VB, (virgin blogging) I welcome your comments on how I did. Looking forward to hearing from you. Until then, your stone gal, Joyce
